Meet Our Counselors

Danny Barclay — Counselor

Danny is a master’s level counseling student at Liberty University. He is projected to graduate in December 2025 with an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Outside of counseling, Danny is involved in ministry work, primarily done by means of mentoring, videography, and social media content creation.

Danny describes his time at Brandon’s House as an incredible opportunity to both help the adolescents of our area find their identities and peer into the countless issues that when left unresolved grow into the much more complex and difficult problems we all struggle with as adults.

Saylem Baril — Counselor

I currently go to IUS and will be graduating with my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling this August.

My time Brandon’s House has been a rewarding experience! I’ve truly enjoyed having the opportunity to work with teens in such an encouraging and supportive environment. Being able to connect with clients, offer guidance, and witness their growth has been incredibly fulfilling, while also allowing me to develop valuable skills that will support my growth as a counselor.

Amber Bratcher — Counselor

Amber Bratcher, LMHCA, graduated with her master’s degree from Indiana University Southeast in August 2023 and has been licensed since May 2024. Having come from a low income family herself, Amber is passionate about increasing access to affordable mental healthcare. Having the opportunity to provide free counseling to adolescents and teenagers at Brandon’s House has been immensely rewarding. Contributing to the growth within the local community is extremely rewarding.

Jordan Browning — Counselor

Currently attending IUS and will be graduating with my Masters in Mental Health Counseling in August of 2025.

I have only been at Brandon’s House for a short period of time but have been really loving it! I especially enjoy being around fellow graduate students and working with teenagers, helping them navigate challenges and discover their strengths in a supportive and empowering environment.

Elijah Coleman — Counselor

I attend Campbellsville University for Marriage and Family Therapy, and I expect to graduate at the end of Summer 2025!

My time at Brandon’s House has been filled with getting to know some awesome teens. Even though I’m only 27, today’s teens have changed a lot from the time I was their age, and they always keep me on my toes with the newest lingo and trends! On a more serious note, It’s been such an insightful experience working with a wide range of young clients with their own unique strengths and struggles.

Bailey Combs — Counselor

Ryan Fields — Counselor

I am currently attending Indiana Wesleyan University. I will graduate in December 2025 with a Master’s of Art in Marriage and Family Therapy.

Since my time at BH in counseling teens and their families, I enjoy having the capability to empower all ages to acknowledge, and better their mental health. In my time with BH, I have been able to plant everlasting seeds of light, help, and hope in the hearts of our teens and their families. All in hopes that one day each seed will sprout and bear fruits of success, self-care, self-compassion, and confidence.

Jonathan Ford — Counselor

Jonathan is currently pursuing his MA in mental health counseling from Indiana University Southeast. He obtained his B.S. in psychology in 2020 and has been working in substance abuse ever since. His hobbies include playing various board games and card games, listening to metal, and hiking.

Audrey Gast — Counselor

School: University of Louisville, Expected graduation: May 2026.

I have loved my time as an intern at Brandon’s House. Brandon’s House has given me the opportunity to grow as a therapist and I have enjoyed working alongside everyone here.

Sophia Gresh — Counselor

University of Kentucky master’s in clinical Mental Health Counseling. Expected graduation is May 2025.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time working at Brandon’s House. I have developed a passion for working with the teenage population that will continue to grow through my career as a counselor. I have gained so much knowledge from working with my clients but also from my coworkers and supervisor. I will forever be grateful for the experiences I have had at Brandon’s House.

Nick Gudgel — Counselor

I graduated from IU Southeast with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in August 2024. I obtained my Associate’s license in November of 2024.

What I love about Brandon’s House is the sense of community and connection everyone has developed between all of the counselors. It truly does feel like a safe place for everyone. I have learned how to make mistakes and grow like I never have before in this environment. And I get to have some amazing relationships with the kids along the way. As I watch them grow, it’s awesome to see myself grow along with them.

Courtney Jackson — Counselor

I am currently pursuing my Master’s degree at IUS, with an expected graduation date of May of 2025. I am not yet licensed, but I am looking forward to obtaining my LMHCA upon completion of my program.

During my time at Brandon’s House, I’ve had the opportunity to grow both professionally and personally, especially appreciating the supportive environment and the chance to collaborate with like-minded individuals.

It has been a fulfilling experience that has helped me refine my skills.

Nissa Jacobi — Counselor

Nissa Jacobi graduated from Miami University with a Bachelor of Arts and then Indiana University Southeast with a Masters of Science in Counseling. She has over 20 years experience as a school counselor. As a counselor at Brandon’s House her hope and desire is to provide her clients with a safe and encouraging environment to tackle their problems and fears. She loves seeing her clients realize how amazing they are and achieving their goals. Brandon’s House is a special place where young people are heard and valued.

Elise Kurk — Counselor

Elise is a master’s level counseling student at Liberty University. She is projected to graduate in December 2025 with her MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. In addition to her studies, Elise has worked for an anti-sex trafficking organization in Indianapolis and has helped develop a program that provides support to families affected by human trafficking.

Elise describes her time at Brandon’s House as an immense privilege that has given her no small amount of fulfillment and satisfaction. She feels deeply honored to have the opportunity to watch her clients grow, gain confidence, embrace their own resilience, and discover who they want to be.

Emily Losey — Counselor

Emily Losey is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). She is also a licensed K-12 school counselor and currently works with high school students. She’s been a counselor at Brandon’s House since January of 2016 and also serves as a board member. She loves helping youth and their families and seeing the positive changes in their lives.

Kevin Parr — Music Therapist

Kevin Parr is a music therapy intern from the University of Louisville. Prior to internship, Kevin completed practicums in medical and clinic settings, working with a broad range of client populations. His work as a part-time youth minister and passion for music led him to pursue licensure as a music therapist. Previously, he held a successful career in healthcare IT. Kevin also enjoys spending time with his family, backpacking, fishing, and playing music.

Alex Paul — Counselor
